Rising Obesity Rates in Children
When I think back on my childhood, I have fond memories of running around my neighborhood with my friends in the few hours of daylight after school and from sun up to sun down during the summer. As soon as I got off of the school bus I would run home to change out of my school clothes and into my play clothes. Within minutes I was ready to hit the street for hours of fun with my friends. We would ride bikes, build forts, climb trees, play tag and on those special days we would play baseball in one of our backyards.

Tommie Schilling, a Pennsylvania transplant, spends his time teaching spinning classes at a local gym, working 40 plus hours a week at a local software company then spends his spare time organizing and participating in charity softball tournaments for the past eight years.

Only a 20-minute drive east from the corner of one of the busiest intersections in Central Florida at Alafaya Trail and Highway 50 and you find yourself smack dab in the middle of paradise in what seems to be the most perfect example of natural and scenic, historic Florida. Is it possible? Have we managed to avoid development pressures and preserve a piece of Florida’s past? Well, sort of.
The Rise in Popularity of Lacrosse
Is Lacrosse the new soccer? That question remains debatable; however the recent rise in popularity of this challenging and exhilarating sport in the past few years is undeniable. Originally played by the Native Americans of North America, Lacrosse wasn’t “just another game” to be played, but was rather promoted as an arduous training technique for close combat in battle and as endurance for hunting. Games actually lasted for two to three days at a time, spanning on a playing field that was from about five hundred yards to several miles long, and consisted of teams made up of one hundred to one thousand players.
Aches and Pains of Running
Well the holiday’s are over and a new year is upon us. Many of have decided to make resolutions that include getting into shape, which includes running. Some of us have tried running in the past without a lot of success. Well, let me try to help you get over some of these hurdles, and ease your mind on the subject.
