Women’s Health Concierge
By Sara Bridget Au
A “Rose” is not just a rose at Florida Hospital East Orlando. As the newly appointed “concierge” at the Women’s Health Pavilion, Rose Kite is a registered nurse and she is there to help local women navigate the hospital system, connect to the right healthcare providers, and get where they need to go.
“I can be a woman’s first point of contact at the hospital and grow to become her trusted confidant,” explains Rose. “Like any good concierge in a hotel, I am here to help you find whatever it is you, need for good health, confidence in your care and peace of mind. I can assist with the simple – an appointment for an annual check-up, a procedure like an ultrasound or mammogram, or a referral to a breast cancer support group. I can also help you with the sometimes more complicated things– navigating through the hospital system and finding the resources and specialists that are best suited for you.”
Rose has been with Florida Hospital for 27 years, starting as a critical care nurse in 1981. She has also held positions as a cardiac care nurse, nurse-manager of outpatient surgery, and most recently as director of surgical services for the last four and a half years at Florida Hospital’s East campus.
“Rose is perfectly suited to be our Women’s Care Concierge, as she is a caregiver first and her knowledge of our facilities, programs and physicians is invaluable,” says Ed Noseworthy, Administrator of Florida Hospital East Orlando. “Her 27 years of experience makes her the ideal partner to help the women of East Orlando maximize the right kind of healthcare for themselves and their families.”
Rose can help women of all ages understand the screenings and health prevention priorities appropriate to one’s age range. She does not coordinate a patient’s care from a nursing standpoint, but assists with logistical coordination for women and their medical needs. Knowing women are often the healthcare managers for the entire family, Rose can give women information relevant to the care of their husbands, parents and/or children.
“I would like you to think of me as a trusted confidant who can look out for you and consult with you on medical conditions you or your family may be facing. I can help put you in the right caring hands, so you can focus on living your life to the fullest,” states Rose.
Rose works out of the Women’s Health Pavilion, located in the Medical Office Building at Lake Underhill Road and Chickasaw Trail. This innovative primary care office provides traditional internal medicine and family practice care in a friendly, soothing manner. Indeed, it was designed to be almost like an art gallery in the décor.
Rose shares the Women’s Health Pavilion with Dr. Lisa Davis, OB/GYN, the Pavilion’s Medical Director, who provides a wide range of services. With such sophisticated diagnostic services onsite, such as bone density screenings, mammography, EKG, glucose testing, and ultrasound for pregnancy or arterial/vein health, the Women’s Health Pavilion caters to women at all stages of life.
“The Pavilion is dedicated to helping our patients reach their optimum in women’s health,” says Dr. Davis.
“Women are everything to everyone, so whether you are a mother, daughter, caretaker, or friend, you need to take care of yourself,” Rose says. “Our goal is to assist you in maintaining not only your health, but your energy, your lifestyle, and, thus, your happiness.”
