By hosting the 4-H Kick-Off, Orange County 4-H intends to celebrate the start of the 2012-2013 4-H program year, increase public awareness of 4-H’s beneficial youth programs, and enhance fellowship in the Orange County community. With 31 active clubs and more than 1,200 members, Orange County 4-H offers family-friendly fun, free of charge, for the public to enjoy in an inspiring and safe environment. Come by and join us for hands on science experiments that will be hosted by the Orlando Science Center, an informational shopping mall of 4-H club booths, a silent auction, and a variety of interactive workshops. This year the Kickoff will feature local food trucks offering American, Asian, Latin and desert options for attendees to purchase lunch from!
Parents, teachers, and youth of all ages are invited to browse the expansive selection of Orange County 4-H youth programs to find the right project for them. Orange County 4-H has programming in science, leadership and healthy living.
Orange County 4-H is the local affiliate of Florida 4-H, a division of University of Florida Extension 4-H is a positive youth development organization that empowers young people to reach their full potential. There are currently over 1,200 Orange County youth engaged in 4-H programs, with activities that include robotics, shooting sports, public speaking, animal science and much more! 4-H mentorship enables America’s youth to emerge as leaders through hands-on educational programs grounded in University tested research.
