There’s an old expression in the media business, “If it bleeds, it leads.” In other words, the more negative the coverage, the more attention the story receives. The real estate market has had its share of negative headlines. When buyers hear bad news, it affects demand, creating a vicious circle of perpetual gloom scaring those who might otherwise consider buying or selling. What is needed is a professional with a winning attitude to provide guidance and assurance through these trying times.
The Century 21 Executive Team of East Orlando fits the bill. The Team, with more than 60 agents, was founded by Pam Wolters. But, this was not the real beginning. The basis of the new business venture sparked when she opened Our Town Realty in Lake Nona in August 2003, the first real estate company to open up in that area. The Team is complimented with partner Julie Yonan, who oversees the Tampa division. Together they work in concert to capture the real estate business from Tampa Bay to Daytona Beach. The spark between these two dynamic real estate brokers began when they both realized the need for a group of experts that based their business practices on integrity and honesty. “We wanted to create a team where our agents could be proud of their company, industry, and community involvement,” says Wolters.
Yonan and Wolters have more than 50 years experience collectively: Yonan with 25 years of in-depth experience in corporate real estate and relocation services, and Wolters as a broker who is experienced in all aspects of real estate with 30 years experience. Together, they created a team that refuses to let the economy dictate their values or change their attitude.
In fact, when the economy was taking a downturn, the Century 21 Executive Team was gearing up to take an offensive approach. “It wasn’t just banks that were failing when the economy started to fall,” says Gillian Lugar, an agent with the Team. “It was real estate offices closing left and right as well. We began what Pam calls the ‘Revolution in Real Estate’ as an offensive maneuver to the economic downturn. While other branches were closing their doors or hunkering down, we decided to have more of a decisive presence in our community. We wanted to be close to our neighbors and give back to our community during this trying time.”
Some of their most recent community projects include contributing to Century 21′s Easter Seals fund raising and participation in Relay for Life. In addition, they donate $100 for the Principal’s Special Needs Program at each closing for local schools.
The Century 21 Executive Team offers a full service property management department. “Our team works to locate a tenant, collects the rent, oversees the home, and the best part – forwards all proceeds to the owner,” says Wolters, using her property management experience of more than 30 years. “Our agents also assist buyers that qualify for government assistance and we have agents specializing in foreclosures and short sales, conducting classes for both sellers and buyers to help them to understand the process.”
Additionally, the Team offers an experienced, professional Russian speaking agent, as well as Spanish speaking agents to better serve the diverse community of East Orlando. This special detail provides just another benefit of service to an already well-rounded business. As Wolters summarizes, “Working in concert, our agents enjoy the benefit of the collective whole. All of our agents share and work together to assist their fellow agents working with clients worldwide. In short, the Century 21 Executive Team has it all, and it is all for you!”
